list of skills

               After reading this article I carefully went over the ten skills that were discussed, after going over everything I easily noticed what skills I have and don’t have.  The first skill listed being internet search was something I am not skilled in. Computer skills aren’t really my number one skill and everything computer related which brings up the second skill listed in the article which is office suite skills. Office suite skills consist of students being able to know how to create, edit, and modify documents, presentations, and spreadsheets. All those skilled need to be performed in the office by students is something I wouldn’t be able to complete by myself. Although all of the skills listed in this article have everything to do with using some form of internet, skipping to number five which is social media is a skill I would say I have.  How to properly use social media for school and work, how to protect yourself on it are all skills needed for the social media world are all skills needed for social media which I believe I have.  Skipping down to the very last skill being finding apps and software, it would be something that I consider also being good at. How to find, evaluate, and use apps for school and business ,also how to find quality, free alternatives to paid software, apps and services are all the skills needed for finding apps and software which being all skills that I am capable of doing. Going back up to number eight being hardware basics and troubleshooting which involves everything from antivirus, spam, phishing, too much personal information sharing, stalkers, and more are all issues they need to know about. All those skills listed above I don’t feel that I am practically good at. The skills listed in this article pretty much all have something to do with computers and technology. With that being said I believe that technology is something I am overall skilled in, which makes it pretty hard to find many skills that I am successfully talented in.

new techniques

              The independent study novel study that I have chosen to do was the twelfth Night by William new things Shakespeare. Since this is an independent study some things that I expect to get out of this play is the following. Starting off I will have to do some major background research, looking up summaries of the play and online novel‘s to study from, other study’s that I may come across might be online video’s and any book’s that I might be able to come across. Most if not all of the research that I come across will be done online due to the fact that it’s convenient for me and it’s up to date. To study the information that I collect from the online website’s I will highlight or copy and paste the important information that I have come across and save it on a separate document so that when I need to be reminded of something it is right at my fingertips. Other things that I can do are take old fashion notes on paper to keep them handy or maybe invest in watching YouTube videos about my play to gather more information that may be important to me in the end. Going into this independent study I truly don’t know what to expect or get out of this because thought out my high school years I have not had much luck with all of the Shakespeare’s plays I have done. Knowing that I have to read the play and do everything independently make’s me a tad scared because understanding Shakespeare’s language is not my number one forte.  As of discovering new things about my novel study some things that I hope to take out of this project are, a better overall understanding of the play then I have had with all the other Shakespeare play I have done. Also I hope to enjoy my novel and discover a new way of Shakespeare that I have not yet to discover before. Overall I think that I will learn several new techniques that involve new study, researches and discovering methods that will be helpful to me not only now but also in my future post-secondary years. Most importantly however I hope to discover a decent understand of the novel I have chosen to do.       

PLN

1.       A PLN is a personal learning network, it is a mutual network that you create to learn from, connect with and gather information or resources. The goal is to learn more about a topic of interest and share what you have learned.  A PLN can occur in many online social networks.

2.       Three possible good elements of a PLN is too be able to keep up with social relations like friends and family. Another good element is to find people that share mutual interest with you and to be able to connect. Lastly another good element is to great sources of information that you may not of had before.   

3.       In my chosen secondary school a PLN may give me an advantage over others, in a way that having my PLN will allow me to connect and share with other educators in my felid of study.

4.       Some potential employers might think that having a PLN will helps them get to know your current interest and personality better than an ordinary interview might. It may also give an edge over the people who don’t have a current PLN.

5.       My current online footprint is not that employer friendly because a lot of the information on there in not something that I would want a future boss or employer to see. Something’s that I can improve to my online footprint is to monitor what is being portrayed about me, and to also think about making a new more up to date online footprint like a PLN.
